Before it gets too cold…

October 31, 2016

mt-a-hike

The leaves may be falling off the trees, the temperatures might be hovering just above freezing at night, and it’s certainly getting dark earlier, but that doesn’t mean we can’t  go outside for a fun walk!  It’s still warm enough during the day to enjoy the outdoors and I want to make sure our guests have the opportunity to enjoy some fresh air. Tours that I currently offer will show your our beautiful seacoast, our lovely views atop a mountain and even our own local National Wildlife Refuge.  I am making it a point to get outside as much as I can now, before the snow flies!  From past experience, it’s a lot harder to get guests out when everything is white.  So, why don’t you join me – in the woods, on the shore, just outdoors?  Let’s do this ‘before it gets too cold’…

Enjoy the day, Sue

How’da ya like them apples?

October 10, 2016

apples

Apple pie, apple donuts, apple cider, candy apples…sorry, I got lost in my thoughts.  I love apples and especially love fresh-picked ones!  It’s a good thing, too, since it’s the time of year when apples are weighing down the branches of the very trees that created them.  So, we’ll go out of our way to pick these apples and help along the nature of all things apple.  Speaking of picking apples, you might want to know where you can go to participate in this autumn ritual.  Here’s a list of local orchards located near the Resort:

1.  Spiller Farm – 1054 Branch Road, Wells ME –  http://spillerfarm.com

2.  Pine View Orchard – Pine View Road, Berwick ME  – #207-698-5891

3.  McDougal Orchards – Rte 11A, Springvale ME –  www.mcdougalorchards.com

4.  Applecrest Farm Orchards – 133 Exeter Rd, Hampton Falls NH  – http://applecrest.com

5.  Emery Farm – 135 Piscataqua Rd, Durham NH  – http://www.emeryfarm.com

I hope you’ll be able to find time to get outside and enjoy our crisp, fall air while enjoying a crisp, fresh apple!  And if you’re looking for other outdoor activities in the area, give me a call or send me an email.  I can be reached at ‘sgeeslin@innseason.com’, or by calling the Resort at #207-646-4600.  Enjoy the day!  Sue

It’s Pumpkin Season…

October 3, 2016

pumpkins.jpg

I know this looks like we had our own pumpkin patch out back, but I have to be honest, we didn’t actually grow these.  But, what better way to welcome Fall than by adding pumpkins to our entrance! ( I happen to love pumpkins in all shapes, colors and sizes)   Before you know it, I’ll be posting foliage pictures – so let’s start with the pumpkins.  Did you know that we have many local farm stands close by?  You can purchase pumpkins and fresh produce right up the road to enjoy.  And, guess what else you can find close by?  That’s right – apples!  If you love picking your own apples, you might want to check out Spiller’s Farm in Wells.  Not only can you pick apples, but pumpkins, too!!

So, enough about pumpkins…

We have lots going on around town during this time of year.  Be sure to check out OgunquitFest as well as York’s Fall Festival this month.  I’ve added some new activities to our Resort schedule, please be sure to go on to the Innseason website and check it out.  And, as always, if you have any questions or want some suggestions, give us a call at #207-646-4600.  Gotta go, I’m craving something ‘Pumpkin Spice’!  Sue
