For all you ‘outdoorsy’ types…

mt-a-snow2

Are you here in Ogunquit and looking for some outdoor activities to get your blood flowing?  Great!  I have some ideas for you:

1 – Take a hike up Mt. Agamenticus – less than 10 miles away from the Resort is our favorite local mountain with miles of hiking or snowshoeing trails in and out of the woods.  You can spend an hour or spend a day, pack a lunch and drinks and you’re all set!

2 – Go ice skating in Kennebunk – free outdoor skating, right downtown, will have you gliding and spinning in the fresh air.  If you don’t have skates, no worries, just rent them from the Wells Recreation Department. By the way, the also rent cross-country skis’ and snowshoes.

3 – Be a kid and go snow tubing – a little ways north in Windham, you’ll find Seacoast Adventure Park.  They offer Maine’s best tubing trails with a carpet lift to the top.  Sounds like a great opportunity for some friendly competition to see who can go the fastest!

4 – Local skiing and snowboarding – Powderhouse Hill Ski Area is owned and operated by the town of Berwick and is the closest ski mountain to the Resort.  While small, it’s a great place to learn and practice your skills.  They also offer free sledding!

5 – Wander the trails at the Laudholm Farm – just up the road in Wells, there are multiple trails to explore.  You can follow old cart paths to the beach or stay in the woods looking for animal tracks.  Sounds like my kind of fun!

I hope these suggestions are helpful to you when planning your winter vacation here with us.  These are just a sample of some of the outdoor adventures you can have.  Give me a call, anytime, and I can give you even more ideas!  Looking forward to meeting you, enjoy the day.  Sue
