All Mainers know that you just can’t count on our weather to stay the same for any reasonable period of time. That’s why we will always try to run the majority of our activities as scheduled, rain or shine, warm or cold.
Beach Rentals for the week
Get your beach chairs, shade tents, beach caddies and more! Get your rentals from the Activities Office upstairs from the Lobby.
Rentals are cash only and cannot be charged to your room.

The earliest start time is 11:00am and participants have until Wednesday at 10:00am to complete the hunt. Forms must be turned in to the front desk when finished. The winner will be announced on Thursday at 12 Noon in the Activities Office. Good luck and good hunting!

Join us on a guided tour of Maine’s most famous footpath. See the sights and learn the fascinating story behind this special piece of coastline. Tour participants will need to be comfortable walking up to 2.5 miles. This is a spectacular trip that will demand the attention of your camera! Participants need to sign up in advance in the hallway directly across from the Front Desk. Meet by the Lobby for departure. This walk will begin in Perkins cove and end at main beach. This trip is limited to the first 10 people to sign-up.

9:30-10:30am Design Your Own Picture Frame
Need a unique picture frame to hold your favorite photo from vacation? Work with assorted materials to make your very own picture frame creation! Meet upstairs in the Activities Office.

Who doesn’t love accessories? Come to the patio to string your own necklace, bracelet or key chain! If necessary, we will meet in the Activities Office to keep dry.

12:15-3:15pm Coastal Reserve Walk
Follow Jeff as he guides you through this spectacular Research Reserve. The trails traverse through upland fields, woodlands, salt marsh, and out to a beautiful sandy beach. This is a superb spot to enjoy nature in all her seasons. Participants will also learn about coastal ecology and the history of a saltwater farm. Don’t forget your camera as this is one of the last pristine pieces of Southern Maine coastline! The walk will be about 1.5 miles long. Dress appropriately for weather conditions and bring some water. Long sleeves, pants, hat, or bug spray always helps to keep the bugs away during the summer months. Participants need to sign up in advance in the hallway directly across from the Front Desk. There is a $3 entry fee for adults and $1 fee for kids ages 6-16(exact change works best). Meet by the Lobby for departure. Participants will need to drive their own vehicles.

12:30-1:15pm Sun Catchers for Kids
Wish you could bring the sun from your vacation home with you? Well you can by creating your very own sun catcher! Paint a cute owl or tropical fish and hang it in your window at home to catch the sun! Meet on the outside patio by the pool. In case of rain, meet upstairs in the Activities Office.

1:30-2:15pm No-Tech Games
Time to turn off the electronics and have a little outdoor fun! Join us for some hopscotch, bubble making, hula-hooping
and jump-roping. Meet on the outside patio at 1:30. We will move the games to the pavement in the upper right corner of the resort. In case of rain, join us upstairs in the Activities Office for board games.

8:50- 11:45am Coastal Bike Ride
Enjoy a leisurely bike ride along southern Maine’s picturesque coastline. This ride is for taking in the sights along the rocky shoreline and the sandy beaches. This tour allows for several stops where riders can get off the bikes, soak up the scenery, look for seals, and take some stunning pictures. Equipment is available for all ages. The ride is approximately 9 miles long and done at a leisurely pace. Participants will need to dress for the weather and bring water bottles. You must register ahead of time at the Front desk. Meet in the Activities office upstairs from the Lobby 5 minutes before scheduled departure to complete rental forms. There is a $10 cash fee for this activity due at time of registration. Participants must be able to ride a bike safely!

9:30-10:15am Make Your Own Doorknob Holder
Do you want to add a personal touch to your door at The Falls or back at home? Choose from a variety of different shapes then add your own creative flair with a number of materials! Meet outside at the patio.

10:45-11:45am Design Your Own Wooden Masterpiece
Come decorate your own treasure box for holding your special keepsakes! Or decorate your own treasure- a wooden car! We have paints and sticky shapes to make your wooden masterpieces unique! Meet upstairs in the Activities Office.

free-bingo-games12:30-1:30pm Ice Cream Sundaes and BINGO
Enjoy an ice cream sundae followed by a few rounds of BINGO! All participants must bring their own bowl and spoon. This is a great way to help reduce our waste products and treat ourselves at the same time! Who knew that being “green” could be so sinfully sweet! This event will take place on the outside patio by the pool. BINGO will start around 12:45pm. In case of rain, this event will be held upstairs in the Activities Office.

12:45-3:45pm Mountain Trail Hike
Come experience the beauty of our coastal mountains and the best views Southern Maine has to offer! The trail has moderate terrain and is 2 miles long. Participants should be in good physical condition and will need to bring a water bottle. Be sure to dress appropriately to match the weather conditions. Long sleeves, pants, hat, or bug spray always helps to keep the bugs away during the summer months. Participants need to sign up in advance in the hallway directly across from the Front Desk. Meet by the Lobby for departure. Participants will need to drive their own vehicles.

2:00-2:45pm Create Your Own Wooden Wind Chime
Decorate a pineapple, palm tree, fish or flower wind chime to bring back home with you. It’ll remind you of the beach! This event will be held outside on the patio by the pool. In case of rain, this activity will be moved upstairs in the Activities Office.

3:15-4:15pm Pool Volleyball
Meet in the pool for a fun game of volleyball. This is a great game for both kids and adults. Get your exercise while having a blast!

Kayak one of our beautiful tidal rivers and estuaries located along our southern coast. Experience the tranquility of gliding along the waterways while watching for wildlife and taking in the exceptional scenery. Participants can choose to paddle with the group or explore on their own. This trip is not guided by a kayak instructor and participants need to be comfortable handling a kayak on their own or with their partner. Kayaks have open seats and are very user friendly. Wear clothing and shoes that can get wet (water will drip off your paddle) and a bathing suit if you want to swim. Bring water and sun protection. Locations will be selected according to current weather and tidal conditions. Cost for boat rentals will be around $25/single and $40/doubles and will be paid at the rental shop (cash is easiest). Availability of boats is on a first come basis and is not guaranteed upon sign-up. Meet by the Lobby for departure. Participants will need to drive their own vehicles.

Come to the patio to decorate a bag to carry all your things! In case of rain, meet in the Activities Office.

11:00-11:45am Design Your Own Puzzle
Want to be a puzzle-maker? Meet on the patio to try it out! In case of rain, meet in the Activities Office.

12:00-12:30pm Stories on the Lawn
Sit back, relax and enjoy a good book while snacking on a sweet treat on the side lawn behind building 1. In case of rain, story time will be moved indoors in the Activities Office.

2:00-3:00pm The Falls Olympic Frenzy
No need to train all year for these games! Come enjoy chicken toss, an egg and spoon race and more! We’ll need at least a few willing participants to make this super fun! So, make sure you sign up on the Olympic Games List located next to the Activities Office door. For kids ages 6-12. Meet on the side lawn behind building 1.

3:15-4:15pm Pool Volleyball
Meet in the pool for a fun game of volleyball. This is a great game for both kids and adults. Get your exercise while having a blast!

5:00pm-7:15pm Kids Night Out!
15 tickets available- Get them while they last!
A treat for the whole family! The kids get to enjoy pizza for dinner while watching a movie or playing an assortment of fun games, while the parents get to enjoy some precious time to themselves! This activity will take place in the Reception Center. Movies shown will be appropriate for all ages. This activity is open to kids ages 6-12. Parents must register their children at the front desk by 11:00am, Wednesday morning. There will be an $8.00 cash fee paid at the time of registration. This activity is limited to the first 15 kids registered only. Sorry, no late admittance will be allowed. Parents must drop off and pick up their kids in person. Please understand that these rules are necessary to create the safest environment possible for your kids.

Fireworks on July 4 at Ogunquit’s Main Beach east of the parking lot at 9:15pm.. Fireworks can be seen from the Footbridge entrance to the Ogunquit beach. DJ Jaz spins tunes at the Main Beach Parking Lot

York
Fireworks on July 4 at 9pm at the Barge by Ellis Park Sand Beach in York

Kennebunk
Kennebunk area fireworks are on July 4 at 9pm on Gooch’s Beach at dusk.

Old Orchard Beach
Fireworks displays are held every Thursday through Labor Day. As for Independence Day activities, on July 3rd there will be a family sand sculpture contest on the beach from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. On July 4 there is a parade starting at 10 a.m. and a band concert with line and square dancing. Also on July 5th & 6th, there will be fireworks on the beach next to the Old Orchard Beach pier. For more info phone (207) 934-9068.

Portland
July 4th- “The Stars and Stripes Spectacular,” will offer something extra this year, in honor of the 150th anniversary of the Gettysburg Address and the Emancipation Proclamation, the city announced.
The celebration will feature a free Patriotic Pops concert with Special Guest Artist Don McLean who will perform with the Portland Symphony Orchestra. This year the Patriotic Pops concert will have a Lincoln theme. As part of the day of festivities the Maine Historical Society will present a reading of the Declaration of Independence by former state legislator Herb Adams and a reading of the Gettysburg Address by Portland Mayor Michael Brennan. The readings will take place at noon in front of the Longfellow House at 489 Congress St. Other festivities will take place at the Eastern Promenade Park. The Patriotic Pops concert is scheduled to begin at 7:40 p.m. and will be broadcast live on WHOM 94.9PM. The concert will run throughout the fireworks display which will begin at approximately 9:20 p.m. A rain date is scheduled for Friday, July 5. visit http://www.July4thportland.org for the most up to date information or call the city’s hotline at 756-8130.

Sanford
July 3rd features a Maine Attraction Water Ski Show at Number 1 Pond at 6:30 p.m. followed by Fireworks, at Number 1 Pond by Riverside and Emery Roads at 9 pm. July 4th- At the South Mill Pond, located across from Portsmouth City Hall. The fireworks display begins at 9:15 p.m. Rain date is July 5th.

Participants need to sign up in advance in the hallway directly across from the Front Desk. This trip is limited to the first 5 people to sign-up. Participants need to sign up in advance in the hallway directly across from the Front Desk. Meet by the Lobby for departure. This walk will begin in Perkins cove and end at main beach. This trip is limited to the first 10 people to sign-up.

Need a unique picture frame to hold your favorite photo from vacation? Work with assorted materials to make your very own picture frame creation! Meet at the outside patio by the pool.

Come experience the beauty of our coastal mountains and the best views Southern Maine has to offer! The trail has moderate terrain and is 2 miles long. Participants should be in good physical condition and will need to bring a water bottle. Be sure to dress appropriately to match the weather conditions. Enjoy a leisurely bike ride along southern Maine’s picturesque coastline. This ride is for taking in the sights along the rocky shoreline and the sandy beaches. This tour allows for several stops where riders can get off the bikes, soak up the scenery, look for seals, and take some stunning pictures. Equipment is available for all ages. The ride is approximately 9 miles long and done at a leisurely pace. Participants will need to dress for the weather and bring water bottles. You must register ahead of time at the Front desk. Meet in the Activities office upstairs from the Lobby 5 minutes before scheduled departure to complete rental forms. There is a $10 cash fee for this activity due at time of registration. Participants must be able to ride a bike safely!

9:30-10:15am Make Your Own Doorknob Holder
Do you want to add a personal touch to your door at The Falls or back at home? Choose from a variety of different shapes then add your own creative flair with a number of materials! Meet outside at the patio.

10:45-11:45am Design Your Own Wooden Masterpiece
Come decorate your own treasure box for holding your special keepsakes! Or decorate your own treasure- a wooden car! We have paints and sticky shapes to make your wooden masterpieces unique! Meet upstairs in the Activities Office.

Follow Jeff as he guides you through this spectacular Research Reserve. The trails traverse through upland fields, woodlands, salt marsh, and out to a beautiful sandy beach. This is a superb spot to enjoy nature in all her seasons. Participants will also learn about coastal ecology and the history of a saltwater farm. Don’t forget your camera as this is one of the last pristine pieces of Southern Maine coastline! The walk will be about 1.5 miles long. We will travel along the back roads through beautiful farmland and quaint home sites on route to an inland preserve. Once there, we will follow a 2 mile trail that leads through a majestic old world forest and along the banks of Southern Maine’s most historic river. Here, you will learn the history of the river and story behind the historic house that sits upon the hill. Participants will need to be in good physical condition in order to complete the trail in a moderate walking pace. With incredible forest trails, beautiful river views, and a historic estate, this trip has it all! Participants need to sign up in advance in the hallway directly across from the Front Desk. There is a $3 entry fee for adults. Meet by the Lobby for departure. Participants will need to drive their own vehicles.

No need to train all year for these games! Come enjoy chicken toss, an egg and spoon race and more! We’ll need at least a few willing participants to make this super fun! So, make sure you sign up on the Olympic Games List located next to the Activities Office door. For kids ages 6-12. Meet on the side lawn behind building 1.

A treat for the whole family! The kids get to enjoy pizza for dinner while watching a movie or playing an assortment of fun games, while the parents get to enjoy some precious time to themselves! This activity will take place in the Reception Center. Movies shown will be appropriate for all ages. This activity is open to kids ages 6-12. Parents must register their children at the front desk by 11:00am, Wednesday morning. There will be an $8.00 cash fee paid at the time of registration. This activity is limited to the first 15 kids registered only. Sorry, no late admittance will be allowed. Parents must drop off and pick up their kids in person. Please understand that these rules are necessary to create the safest environment possible for your kids.

Experience the tranquility of gliding along the waterways while watching for wildlife and taking in the exceptional scenery. Participants can choose to paddle with the group or explore on their own. This trip is not guided by a kayak instructor and participants need to be comfortable handling a kayak on their own or with their partner. Kayaks have open seats and are very user friendly. Wear clothing and shoes that can get wet (water will drip off your paddle) and a bathing suit if you want to swim. Bring water and sun protection. Locations will be selected according to current weather and tidal conditions. Cost for boat rentals will be around $25/single and $40/doubles and will be paid at the rental shop (cash is easiest). Availability of boats is on a first come basis and is not guaranteed upon sign-up. Meet by the Lobby for departure. Participants will need to drive their own vehicles.

This is a beautiful exploratory walk that allows participants to engage all their senses while discovering the hidden secrets of this special place. The walk is approximately 2 miles. Participants need to sign up in advance in the hallway directly across from the Front Desk. Meet by the Lobby where we will depart on foot.

Her new flapper lifestyle encounters trouble when she checks into a hotel owned by a dragon-lady villainess audience are sure to love to hate and played by none other than Ogunquit’s favorite, Sally Struthers, in the Tony Award winning role! This musical comedy is based on the Mary Tyler Moore, Julie Andrews, Carol Channing film. It opened on Broadway in 2002 where it garnered 6 Tony Awards including Best Musical. The Tony Award winning costumes will be featured in the Ogunquit production. Musical theatre has found a new heroine for the ages – Thoroughly Modern Millie!
