2011 Open Lighthouse Day

Many of the state’s coastal, island and river lighthouses will be open to the public on Saturday, September 17, 2011. Most lights will be open to visitors from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for guided or self-guided tours of keepers houses and light towers. Some light stations will have limited accessibility or special restrictions, This is the third annual Maine Open Lighthouse Day being sponsored by the U.S. Coastguard, the state of Maine and the American Lighthouse Foundation.
Last year, hundreds of people visited lighthouses along the Maine coast in the largest effort of its kind in the nation. Sally Struthers returns to Ogunquit!

Fast, Fun and Frothy! Legally Blonde starring Becky Gulsvig, Tony Winner Michael Rupert AND Sally Struthers to Open at the Ogunquit Playhouse August 24!
OMG, like, you’ll totally have to see Legally Blonde the Musical, on stage August 24 through September 17! Get you pink on and join the Ogunquit Playhouse for this all singing, all dancing, fee-good musical comedy that is so much fun it shouldn’t be legal!
This award-winning musical sensation is based on the hit movie by the same name and follows college sweetheart and homecoming queen Elle Woods, played by Broadway’s Becky Gulsvig, as she puts down the credit card, hits the books and heads for Harvard Law School in pursuit of her boyfriend Warner, who just dumped her for someone more serious. There she encounters Professor Callahan, played by the Tony Award winning actor Michael Rupert and proves that being true to yourself never goes out of style. Legally Blonde the Musical will take you from then social whirl of California campus life to Harvard’s halls of justice with our heroine Elle, her Chihuahua, Bruiser and the bull dog-toting-hairdresser Paulette, played by none other than Emmy Award winning Playhouse favorite Sally Struthers.
Becky Gulsvig is reprising the role of Elle Woods after 2 years in the 1st National Tour of Legally Blonde, for which she received a Helen Hayes Award nomination. Becky was also a member of the original Broadway cast of Legally Blonde. The Tony award winning actor Michael Rupert joins the cast as professor Callahan, the role he originated on Broadway.
Sally Struthers is best known for her comedic roles and is a highly acclaimed actress of stage, television and screen, winning two Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award for her performances in television’s groundbreaking series All in the Family.

Ogunquit’s Sidewalk Art Show-2011

Join us in Ogunquit on August 25 (rain date August 26) for Ogunquit’s annual Art Show and Sale. Over 70 artists will come to the sidewalks and parking lots of downtown Ogunquit to display and sell their works.
