Ogunquit is for Kids, too!

Kids like Ogunquit, too!

Everyone knows how great the beach is in Ogunquit. And the kids don’t care if the water is 56 or 58 degrees! But in addition to those wonderful days at the beach, the surrounding are is packed with things to do to keep the young ones active and happy.

Twenty miles north in Saco is Funtown/Splashtown with enough going on to fill an entire day. Discount tickets are available at the Front Desk for either or both parks. Funtown has rides that appeal to all ages and Splashtown is a large water park.

Eight miles south is the York Wild Animal Kingdom with both a zoo and rides for the smaller children. Discount tickets are also available at the Front Desk.

Just one mile north of the Falls is Wonder Mountain , an elaborate miniature golf course with an indoor arcade as well.

Kids got a sweet tooth?  About 15 miles south on Route 1, just before the Kittery Outlets is Yummies,  a candy lover’s delight. They have over 10,000 candies on display and while the kids will love it, you’ll find yourself wandering down memory lane with all of the old fashioned candy available.

About 25 minutes north in Scarborough you’ll find Lenny the Chocolate Moose, a life size moose made from chocolate.

Kids like the ocean? There’s whale watching and lobstering cruises out of Perkins Cove as well as in Kennebunkport.

On a more educational slant, there are children’s museums in Portland and in the Portsmouth area- and movies are close by in Wells and Portsmouth.

So, you see,  there’s no reason for kids to be bored here in Ogunquit—rain or shine!
